About The Position

The In-State Relay Driver distributes CLS products between branches using a semi-tractor trailer. Routes rotate among drivers, and start times vary by route, typically beginning in the early evening and ending in the early morning. The position drives locally within Michigan and is described as being home every night. The driver loads and unloads bins between relay trailers, the plant, and branch locations; delivers clean products and retrieves soiled products; and ensures deliveries and pickups are completed as scheduled. The role also includes conducting daily tractor-trailer safety inspections and reporting safety issues. Working conditions include prevailing weather conditions. Equipment includes a multi-geared single- or double-axle tractor and a box trailer.

Requirements

At least one year of previous semi-tractor experience.
Valid CDL-A license and DOT card.
High school diploma.
Tractor-trailer training.
Certification of road testing.
Certification of CDL-A license.
Ability to move wheeled bins and carts weighing up to 800 pounds.
Ability to push and pull industrial laundry carts up a 15-degree incline.
Ability to respond quickly to surrounding road and weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Distribute CLS products to different branches via semi-tractor trailer.
Load and unload bins between relay trailers, the plant, and branch locations.
Ensure clean products are delivered to each branch and soiled products are removed.
Ensure products are delivered and retrieved at each branch as scheduled to support customer satisfaction.
Conduct daily tractor-trailer safety inspections and properly report safety issues.
Safely operate a semi-tractor.
Complete other tasks as required by the supervisor.
