About The Position

Waldorf Astoria New York is seeking an In-Room Dining Order Taker to support its in-room dining service and create memorable guest experiences. The position involves answering room-service calls, taking and entering food and beverage orders, helping guests with menu information, promoting offerings, and processing payments accurately. This is a Local 6 union position requiring complete open availability. Schedule and hours vary according to seniority and business needs, full-time hours are not guaranteed, and hours may be minimal until seniority is established.

Requirements

• Ability to provide friendly and efficient service to guests.
• Attention to detail when entering orders and processing payments.
• Learn menu items, promotions, and specials and communicate them to guests.

Responsibilities

• Bring an upbeat and friendly attitude to guest interactions and look for ways to make the guest experience special.
• Answer room-service telephone calls and guest requests promptly, warmly, and efficiently.
• Capture food and beverage orders and enter them accurately into the point-of-sale system.
• Learn menu items, promotions, and specials to answer guests’ questions confidently.
• Suggest and promote food and beverage items, including sides, desserts, drinks, and special promotions.
• Reconcile checks, verify totals and gratuity disbursement, and handle cash according to accounting guidelines.
