About The Position

Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club is seeking an In Room Dining Captain to join its Food & Beverage team. The resort is located in Dana Point, California, on 175 acres overlooking the coast and features more than 400 rooms, meeting space, and eight food and beverage outlets, including in-room dining. The In Room Dining Captain leads in-room food and beverage service and helps deliver memorable guest experiences. The role oversees server order rotation and service quality, prepares trays and tables, delivers orders to guest rooms or meeting rooms, handles guest checks and payments, assists with order-taking and phone calls, and maintains compliance with applicable health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol-awareness regulations. This is a full-time position with various shifts. The employee must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays. The pay rate is $17.65 per hour, based on applicable and specialized experience and location. Eligible new hires may receive a $1,000 sign-on bonus after six months of continuous employment, subject to the stated eligibility conditions.

Responsibilities

Bring an upbeat, friendly attitude to guest interactions and proactively look for ways to make the guest experience special.
Oversee order rotation among servers, monitor service quality, and ensure guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
Set up room-service trays and tables in advance to support timely order delivery.
Retrieve food and beverage orders and deliver them to guest rooms or meeting rooms.
Present checks to guests, collect payments, and return signed checks to the order taker.
Assist with taking orders and respond to room-service phone calls.
Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol-awareness regulations.
