About The Position

Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club is seeking an Engineer I to help maintain the resort’s physical safety and functionality while delivering memorable guest experiences. The resort is located in Dana Point on 175 acres atop a seaside bluff and includes more than 400 rooms, 115,000 square feet of meeting space, and eight food and beverage outlets.

This position follows a rotating schedule of three afternoon shifts and two overnight shifts per week. Days off are typically Friday and Saturday, depending on operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the physical functionality and safety of hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public spaces, and heart-of-house areas.
• Respond promptly to guest service calls and team member work orders.
• Perform repairs and maintenance in areas including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and masonry.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections of facilities and equipment, identifying and addressing maintenance needs.
• Document completed inspections and repairs, and flag issues requiring further attention.
