About The Position

Joseph Gallagher is a leading UK-based Civil Engineering & Tunnelling sub-contractor with a significant international presence and an award-winning reputation. They are seeking an In-House Recruiter with experience in the construction and/or civil engineering industries to source and select candidates for blue-collar site-based roles. The recruiter will report to the Recruitment Lead and collaborate with the Labour Management team to meet resourcing needs and deliver skilled labor efficiently to projects, ensuring a high level of service for both the business and candidates.

Requirements

• Recruitment experience in the Construction or Civil Engineering Industry, either gained in-house or with an agency.

Responsibilities

• Liaising with Labour Managers to understand where there are gaps that require labour recruiting externally.
• Managing a range of vacancies, creating vacancies in the ATS system, ensuring job descriptions are available and representative of the roles, advertising roles via the JGL careers page, job boards and through social media.
• Utilising LinkedIn and other tools to actively source candidates for niche roles.
• Pre-registering and screening of applicants, sifting CVs, telephone screening where appropriate and providing a shortlist of candidates to the recruiting managers.
• Managing candidates, including arranging interviews and feeding back.
• Conveying offers, ensuring the correct approvals are in place for the salaries or rates offered.
• Ensuring the HR Administrator is provided with the information to raise contracts for new hires and that candidates and line managers provide the right paperwork for them to be processed onto payroll efficiently.
• Building and maintaining a database of appropriately skilled candidates.
