About The Position

Pepperl+Fuchs is seeking a mid-level In-House Legal & Compliance Counsel (Americas) with a strong focus on the United States to join their Global Legal & Compliance team. This role will serve as the primary legal advisor for all legal and compliance matters in the Americas region, excluding labor/employment law and tax law. The counsel will provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal guidance to support commercial operations, regulatory compliance, and risk management. The company fosters a supportive and collaborative workplace culture and is a globally operating technology company in the electronics industry.

Requirements

Fully qualified attorney admitted to practice law in the United States (any state bar; OH preferred).
Minimum 6–10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably including both law firm and in-house experience.
Strong background in commercial law and corporate compliance.
Experience working with international companies or cross-border legal matters.
Solid understanding of US regulatory frameworks relevant to the electronics or manufacturing industry is a plus.
Strong business acumen and ability to provide pragmatic, solution-oriented legal advice.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently across time zones and manage multiple stakeholders.
High integrity, sound judgment, and a strong compliance mindset.
Comfortable operating in a matrixed, international environment.
Fluency in English required.

Additional languages (especially German) are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Act as the primary legal and compliance contact for all business activities in the Americas region, with a focus on the US.
Provide legal support for all areas except labor/employment law and tax law.
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including sales, procurement, and partnership agreements.
Advise on sales, procurement, operations, product, regulatory, competition, and corporate matters.
Manage and enhance compliance processes and frameworks.
Advise on compliance matters, including anti-bribery, anti-corruption, anti-trust, and trade compliance.
Develop and implement internal policies and conduct investigations.
Conduct risk assessments and support mitigation measures.
Deliver legal and compliance trainings to business stakeholders.
Manage external counsel.
Support disputes, strategic projects, reorganizations, and cross-border matters.
Collaborate closely with global Legal & Compliance colleagues to ensure consistent legal standards across regions.
Support M&A, joint ventures, and strategic transactions as required.
