About The Position

Pepperl+Fuchs is seeking a mid-level In-House Legal & Compliance Counsel (Americas) with a strong focus on the United States to join their Global Legal & Compliance team. This role will serve as the primary legal advisor for all legal and compliance matters in the Americas region, excluding labor/employment law and tax law. The counsel will provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal guidance to support commercial operations, regulatory compliance, and risk management. The company fosters a supportive and collaborative workplace culture and is a globally operating technology company in the electronics industry.

Requirements

  • Fully qualified attorney admitted to practice law in the United States (any state bar; OH preferred).
  • Minimum 6–10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably including both law firm and in-house experience.
  • Strong background in commercial law and corporate compliance.
  • Experience working with international companies or cross-border legal matters.
  • Solid understanding of US regulatory frameworks relevant to the electronics or manufacturing industry is a plus.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to provide pragmatic, solution-oriented legal advice.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently across time zones and manage multiple stakeholders.
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and a strong compliance mindset.
  • Comfortable operating in a matrixed, international environment.
  • Fluency in English required.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional languages (especially German) are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary legal and compliance contact for all business activities in the Americas region, with a focus on the US.
  • Provide legal support for all areas except labor/employment law and tax law.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including sales, procurement, and partnership agreements.
  • Advise on sales, procurement, operations, product, regulatory, competition, and corporate matters.
  • Manage and enhance compliance processes and frameworks.
  • Advise on compliance matters, including anti-bribery, anti-corruption, anti-trust, and trade compliance.
  • Develop and implement internal policies and conduct investigations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and support mitigation measures.
  • Deliver legal and compliance trainings to business stakeholders.
  • Manage external counsel.
  • Support disputes, strategic projects, reorganizations, and cross-border matters.
  • Collaborate closely with global Legal & Compliance colleagues to ensure consistent legal standards across regions.
  • Support M&A, joint ventures, and strategic transactions as required.
