About The Position

Visiting Angels of Claremont is hiring an In Home Personal Aide to support senior adults and other home-care clients throughout the Upper Connecticut River Valley, including Brattleboro, Vermont; Claremont and Keene, New Hampshire; and Springfield and White River Junction, Vermont. Aides help clients remain at home or recover at home with dignity, providing practical assistance and companionship. Client visits vary, and aides must be prepared to respond promptly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. The role calls for competency, compassion, and professional discernment. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available, with 8-hour and 12-hour shifts. Pay is $18.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
A heart for vulnerable people and a desire to provide meaningful companionship.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Provide light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, according to their abilities.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the home, attending doctor visits, and taking walks.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies.
Report health changes and unusual circumstances.
