In Home Patient Care Assistant
About The Position
Visiting Angels of Owensboro is hiring caregivers to serve clients throughout the local area, including Henderson, Madisonville, and Morganfield. In Home Patient Care Assistants help enrich clients’ quality of life and support their wellness in accordance with customized care plans. Duties may include personal care and hygiene, light exercise and walks, meal planning and preparation, light housekeeping, companionship, medication reminders, mobility assistance, and accompanying clients on shopping trips, appointments, and errands. Assistants report health changes or unusual incidents and respond responsibly in emergencies. Advanced training opportunities are available in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle to transport clients.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Training in first aid and emergency response; training is provided if needed.
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to juggle multiple duties.
- Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times.
- Physical endurance to carry groceries and physically support a client.
- Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints.
- Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, such as a background check.
- Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.

- Interest in broadening caregiving skills through advanced training in dementia care or Alzheimer’s care.
Responsibilities
