About The Position

Comfort Keepers is hiring an in-home health aide in the Nisswa area. The starting wage is $18 per hour, or $20 per hour for a Certified Nursing Assistant. Part-time and full-time hours are available depending on the employee’s availability. After five months of employment, employees are eligible for free CNA classes through Scrubs Academy.

In-home caregivers help clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes. Work may include personal care, household tasks, meal preparation, companionship, mobility support, medication assistance, dementia or Alzheimer’s care, communication with the Client Care Coordinator, and electronic documentation of shifts and care provided.

Requirements

• Experience in a caregiving role.
• Availability every other weekend and on holidays.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Own reliable transportation, a clean driving record, and three years of driving experience.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance; must be comfortable driving.
• Clearance of DHS and driving-record background checks.
• Customer service excellence and professional boundaries are required.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Nursing Assistant qualification; the posting offers a higher starting wage for CNAs.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living.
• Provide hands-on personal care, including help with dressing, grooming, incontinence, and hygiene.
• Perform light housekeeping, such as cleaning bathrooms and living areas, dusting, mopping, changing linens, vacuuming, doing laundry, and taking out garbage.
• Plan and prepare meals, including cooking and baking.
• Provide conversation and companionship through interactive caregiving.
• Assist clients with mobility, including use of transfer tools or equipment.
• Assist with medication.
• Provide dementia or Alzheimer’s care.
• Communicate with the Client Care Coordinator as needed.
• Complete proper electronic documentation of shifts and care provided.
