Provides in-home intervention to children and their families utilizing a skill based, solution focused model to help families adopt positive solutions to problems through the teaching of skills and behavioral techniques accessing community resources and support. Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of two years of post secondary education and at least two years of experience working with children and families.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Rural Iowa Exception: May qualify with four years of combined education and/or relevant experience working with children and families.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus
  • Certification as a Parenting Instructor
  • Facilitation of family decision-making meetings

Responsibilities

  • Providing in-home support and teaching practical skills to strengthen families.
  • Connecting families with community resources such as schools, healthcare, and social services.
  • Offering crisis intervention and guidance when needed.
  • Building strong relationships with families and collaborating with professionals like teachers, doctors, and social workers.
  • Developing service plans, monitoring progress, and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Serves as a role model in carrying out activities and behaviors that reflect the values and principles of the Boys Town mission.
