About The Position

Provides in-home intervention to children and their families utilizing a skill based, solution focused model to help families adopt positive solutions to problems through the teaching of skills and behavioral techniques accessing community resources and support. As an In-Home Family Services Specialist, you’ll work directly with families to help them overcome challenges and build skills for long-term success.

Requirements

Must have a minimum of two years of post secondary education and at least two years of experience working with children and families.
May qualify with four years of combined education and/or relevant experience working with children and families.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed)
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Nice To Haves

Bilingual skills are a plus
Certification as a Parenting Instructor
Facilitation of family decision-making meetings

Responsibilities

Providing in-home support and teaching practical skills to strengthen families.
Connecting families with community resources such as schools, healthcare, and social services.
Offering crisis intervention and guidance when needed.
Building strong relationships with families and collaborating with professionals like teachers, doctors, and social workers.
Developing service plans, monitoring progress, and maintaining accurate documentation.
Serves as a role model in carrying out activities and behaviors that reflect the values and principles of the Boys Town mission.
