About The Position

The ideal candidate will collaborate with various technical teams, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure seamless operations to minimize downtime and disruptions. This role requires an in-depth understanding of investment management workflows and processes, including portfolio management, trade order management, compliance, and risk management. Ideally, the candidate will possess strong technical skills in configuring and maintaining the Charles River system or other relevant front office systems, including system analysis, data management, and troubleshooting. A minimum of 5 years of experience within an investment manager/Hedge Fund environment is required. Proven experience as a System Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role, with a focus on configuring and supporting the Charles River Investment Management System (CRIMS) or other relevant front office systems, is essential. Familiarity with FIX protocol and strong knowledge of SQL and Sybase databases is also required, along with familiarity with investment management concepts, financial instruments, and market data sources. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail, and strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, are crucial.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience within an investment manager / Hedge Fund environment.

  • In-depth understanding of investment management workflows and processes
  • Knowledge of T-SQL (transact SQL) and an ability to query SQL databases at an intermediate level of expertise – joins, aggregate functions
  • Broad knowledge of cloud (AWS, Azure), desktop, server and virtualization technology.
  • Basic knowledge of desktop applications and productivity tools.
  • Prior experience providing technical and functional support to investment and trading floors.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity and flexibility.
  • Emotional intelligence in decision making scenarios.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior completion of CRD bootcamp courses or Charles River University – version 17R1 onward.
  • Strong knowledge of CR IMS Manager Workbench, Trading Blotter/Order Management, Post-Trade workflow, securities, broker and account configuration and investment compliance mechanisms.
  • Understanding of network topology and an ability to provide basic troubleshooting of connectivity problems from the investment desktop environment.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow (SNOW) and ITIL service management workflows. (Incidents, Problems, Changes, Approvals).
  • Familiarity with financial instruments, and market data sources.
  • Experience of supporting workflows through vendor trading platforms across equity, fixed income, and FX – Familiarity with Portware/Flextrade, Bloomberg EMSX/TSOX, FXAll/FXConnect or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in responding to and resolving production incidents, investigating root causes, and implementing solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide expert-level technical support to troubleshoot and resolve complex system and application issues, working closely with other support teams and developers.
  • Monitor the health and performance of production systems using monitoring tools, promptly identifying anomalies, and taking proactive measures to prevent potential problems.
  • Assist in managing and escalating critical incidents to appropriate teams, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on business operations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of support procedures, incident resolutions, and system configurations for knowledge sharing and future reference.
  • Participate in change management processes by reviewing proposed system changes, assessing potential impacts, and ensuring smooth deployment.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to identify performance bottlenecks and recommend optimizations for improved system efficiency.
  • Analyze recurring incidents and system outages to identify underlying trends and recommend long-term solutions for improved stability.
  • Conduct workflow testing of workflows in CR IMS lower environments – i.e., to replicate issues or regression test new proposed changes.
  • Coordinate the backlog of change work, remove blockers, and contribute ideas to the backlog of improvements from a technical perspective.
