About The Position

Meyer Distributing is seeking an Import Supply Specialist to join their Jasper, Indiana team. This role supports the management of international shipments and ensures the efficient movement of goods through global supply chains. The position is an in-person, onsite role with a pay rate of $22-$25/hour and a Monday-Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST.

Requirements

Knowledge of HTS classifications, freight documentation, and trade compliance requirements
Experience working with freight carriers, customs brokers, and international vendors
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving skills
Adaptability- the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and can deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.
Dependability- the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.

Responsibilities

Coordinate international import shipments
Partner with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure on-time delivery
Track shipments and resolve delays, discrepancies, and documentation issues proactively
Maintain accurate import transaction records
Monitor shipping costs and identify savings opportunities
Maintain organized records to support audits and quick document retrieval
Provide cross-functional support to purchasing, logistics, and operations teams as needed
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Assist with all other supervisor assigned tasks
