About The Position

We are seeking an Import/Export Compliance Specialist to support global trade compliance activities with a primary focus on import operations, customs requirements, and cross-functional coordination. This role will help ensure compliant movement of goods, accurate documentation, and timely support for business-critical projects.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in import compliance, customs documentation, tariff classification, country of origin, valuation, and broker coordination.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations and global trade compliance processes.
  • Familiarity with the ACE Customs portal, including accessing, reviewing, and using ACE reports to support compliance activities.
  • Experience managing Duty Drawback filings, including gathering supporting documentation and coordinating submissions.
  • Ability to review, validate, and maintain accurate trade documentation to support compliant shipments.
  • Experience partnering with logistics, supply chain, operations, legal, finance, and external customs brokers or freight forwarders.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify compliance risks, resolve documentation issues, and follow through on corrective actions.
  • Ability to support urgent business needs and project timelines in a fast-moving environment.
  • Must be ITAR authorized
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to manage through change and to lead change when appropriate
  • Ability to work well with others

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing, technology, or global supply chain environment.
  • Familiarity with export compliance, restricted party screening, export classifications, or denied party processes.
  • Experience working with ERP, trade compliance, or logistics systems.
  • Customs broker license, trade compliance certification, or related professional training.
  • Experience with TMS or similar trade management systems
  • Certification in customs compliance (e.g., CUSECO)
  • Knowledge of Incoterms and international shipping documentation
  • Working knowledge of customs regulations (e.g., ITAR, EAR, HTS, FDA, TSCA)
  • Experience with ACE System and Reporting
  • Experience with global freight forwarding and customs brokerage.
  • Advanced knowledge using Excel and other software for analytics
  • Experience with Duty Drawback filing

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support import compliance activities, including shipment documentation, customs entry review, tariff classification support, and broker communication.
  • Use the ACE Customs portal and ACE reports to monitor, validate, and support import compliance activities.
  • Manage Duty Drawback filing activities, including documentation collection, data accuracy, broker coordination, and follow-up on submissions.
  • Ensure import/export records are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with internal teams to resolve shipment holds, documentation discrepancies, and compliance questions.
  • Support process improvements that strengthen compliance controls and improve speed, accuracy, and visibility.
  • Provide guidance to business partners on trade compliance requirements and escalate risks when needed.
  • Assist with audits, reporting, and compliance reviews related to import/export activity.
  • Must be ITAR compliant.
