About The Position

The CAD Records Management (CRM) Field Engineering team plays a crucial role in enhancing public safety by deploying Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), Mobile Applications, and Records Management Systems (RMS). The CRM Field Engineering Team Lead acts as a key resource for all CRM software deployment projects, serving as an expert, mentor, leader, and trusted advisor to the CRM Field Engineering team.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience as a Field Engineer, Systems Engineer, or a Manager in a technical environment.
  • Must be proficient in installating and advanced troubleshooting of server Hardware, Operating Systems, and software Infrastructure to resolve system and application-level issues.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Exceptional communication skills are mandatory, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts while consistently projecting a professional image.
  • Able to build and sustain relationships with sales, engineering, project, product, and service managers to achieve customer satisfaction, new orders, and revenue goals.
  • Takes personal responsibility for key technical decisions made by the team, escalating situations as necessary.
  • Intermediate knowledge of computer systems including hardware, operating systems, applications, and networking.
  • Ability to use a computer and common computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and internet browsers.
  • Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer

Responsibilities

  • Strategically manage team resources to align the team size and composition with current and projected workload.
  • Drive talent acquisition and retention by identifying, recruiting, and onboarding qualified new talent to expand or replace team members as needed.
  • Oversee performance management—recognizing and rewarding top performers while actively coaching and developing those who need improvement.
  • Serve as a dedicated mentor for junior Field Engineers (FEs), ensuring they receive necessary training, direction, and continuous professional development.
  • Empower top performers with the proper tools, test equipment, and advanced training required for success.
  • Foster a high-performance culture by routinely communicating organizational goals, changes, and updates to all team members, ensuring clear understanding and alignment.
  • Build an organizational talent pipeline by actively identifying, mentoring, and developing future senior FEs, group leaders, and managers from within the team.
  • Promote career growth by encouraging both internal and cross-functional development across the entire organization.
  • Inspire and maintain a team culture of total technical ownership to guarantee the integrity and quality of all customer and partner system implementations.
  • Ensure optimal resource allocation by managing the team's time and budget effectively for all projects.
  • Elevate project execution expertise across the team by monitoring work habits and actively coaching for more efficient, high-quality outcomes.
  • Collaborate with key internal and external partners to ensure seamless cross-functional operations and alignment.
  • Manage all team assets including tools, test equipment, company computers, and cellular devices, ensuring they are properly maintained and accounted for.
  • Provide immediate support, when required, for team members to ensure FE deliverables remain on schedule.
  • Own the department's financial performance and administration, including budget planning, forecasting, billing, and consistent monitoring of financial goals.
  • Manage team compensation and rewards programs.
  • Handle capital asset planning, tracking, and reporting for major equipment like test gear.
  • Review, process, and approve employee expense reports in full compliance with Motorola Solutions HR Guidelines.
  • Ensure team and departmental adherence to all applicable Motorola Solutions policies and procedures.
