About The Position

The Implementation Consultant, HR Compliance partners with clients to design, implement, and enhance HR programs, policies, and processes that support compliance with applicable employment laws and organizational best practices. This role serves as a trusted advisor throughout the implementation lifecycle, helping clients establish foundational HR infrastructure, mitigate compliance risks, and create scalable people practices that align with business objectives. The consultant identifies potential legal and regulatory concerns, provides recommendations for resolution, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional client outcomes and retention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in human resources, HR consulting, compliance, employee relations, or a related discipline.
  • Experience developing and implementing HR policies, employee handbooks, performance management programs, compensation structures, and hiring processes.
  • Strong knowledge of human resources principles, employment practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to interpret and apply employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices in a business-focused manner.
  • Excellent consulting, relationship management, and client-service skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and facilitation abilities.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations, identify risks, and develop practical solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and other HR technology tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Primarily involves sitting for extended periods, often at a desk or computer.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
  • Occasional walking or traversing throughout the office to meet with leaders and other employees.
  • Ability to read and analyze data on a computer screen (or to read and analyze data with reasonable accommodation) and in printed materials.
  • Minimal physical lifting required, but may involve handling documents, and lifting light office supplies.
  • High level of accuracy needed for managing products, reports and contracts.
  • Ability to strategically plan the needs of the department.
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, often under tight deadlines.
  • Make informed decisions regarding the best plan for paid media strategies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience advising clients or business leaders on HR compliance and employment-related matters preferred.
  • Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and client engagements in a fast-paced environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients to assess HR compliance needs and develop tailored solutions that support organizational goals and legal requirements.
  • Design, implement, and recommend core HR programs and tools, including: Employee handbooks and workplace policies, job descriptions and competency frameworks, compensation structures and pay administration programs, Paid Time Off (PTO), leave, and time-off policies, performance management systems and processes, recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding programs.
  • Conduct reviews of existing HR policies, procedures, and practices to identify compliance gaps and operational improvement opportunities.
  • Provide guidance on federal, state, and local employment law considerations and HR best practices.
  • Identify, document, and escalate potential legal, regulatory, or compliance concerns to appropriate internal experts and stakeholders.
  • Partner with clients to develop corrective action plans and support implementation of compliance-related recommendations.
  • Manage multiple client implementation projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion of deliverables and adherence to project timelines.
  • Facilitate client meetings, training sessions, and consultations to support adoption of HR programs and processes.
  • Develop and maintain implementation documentation, project plans, standard operating procedures, and client communications.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, exceptional service, and consultative problem-solving.
  • Support client retention efforts by providing responsive guidance and delivering high-quality compliance and HR solutions.
  • Stay current on employment law developments, regulatory updates, and emerging HR trends to ensure recommendations remain compliant and effective.
  • Build, maintain and promote relationships with team members, peers across disciplines, and all other company team members ensuring effective coordination of communications and services affecting clients.
  • Attend webinars and training to stay up to date on best practices related to the company and department.
  • Complete projects and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
