About The Position

Yeshiva University announces its new College of Dental Medicine and is hiring new faculty and staff to support the school. The curriculum integrates Digital Dentistry techniques taught by today’s dental thought leaders and master clinicians. The school provides a unique 36-month dental education program through an innovative “Block” style curriculum which ensures in-depth learning and understanding. The Implant Surgical Coordinator supports the delivery of implant care within the dental school clinics by coordinating implant cases from consultation through final restoration. Reporting to the Director of Clinic, this role serves as the primary point of contact for patients, faculty, laboratories, and clinical staff throughout the implant treatment process. This position is responsible for implant case coordination, patient navigation, multidisciplinary scheduling, inventory management, and treatment tracking. Working closely with Oral Surgery, Prosthodontics, and Restorative Dentistry, the Implant Surgical Coordinator helps ensure that implant cases progress efficiently, documentation requirements are met, and patients receive a seamless treatment experience.

Requirements

  • Associate degree preferred, or high school diploma or GED with relevant experience considered.
  • 7 – 10 years of experience in dental treatment coordination, implant coordination, dental assisting, or related dental practice operations.
  • Experience working with implant dentistry, oral surgery, prosthodontics, or restorative dentistry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of implant treatment workflows and multidisciplinary dental care.
  • Experience with dental practice management and electronic health record systems is preferred.
  • Experience coordinating implant cases within an academic dental clinic or specialty practice.
  • Implant Case Coordination: Knowledge of implant treatment workflows, case progression, and multidisciplinary care coordination.
  • Patient Navigation and Service: Ability to guide patients through complex treatment plans while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.
  • Scheduling and Workflow Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple providers, appointments, and treatment phases.
  • Inventory Management: Experience tracking implant systems, restorative components, and clinical supplies.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with patients, faculty, staff, laboratories, and vendors.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accurate records, monitor case progression, and ensure documentation requirements are met.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of HIPAA requirements, patient confidentiality, and clinical documentation standards.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for implant patients throughout the treatment process.
  • Coordinate implant cases from consultation through final restoration.
  • Present treatment plans, review treatment estimates, discuss payment options, collect required deposits, and ensure final payment is received prior to delivery or seating of the final restoration in accordance with clinic policies.
  • Support treatment acceptance and follow up with patients who have not scheduled the recommended treatment.
  • Coordinate implant consultations, surgical procedures, restorative appointments, and follow-up visits.
  • Collaborate with the Complex Care Patient Coordinator to ensure continuity of care and efficient treatment progression.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary treatment involving Oral Surgery, Prosthodontics, Restorative Dentistry, and other clinical specialties.
  • Monitor treatment timelines, case progression, and appointment completion.
  • Ensure required records, radiographs, consents, and documentation are complete prior to treatment.
  • Coordinate implant cases with dental laboratories and vendors, including case submissions, prosthetic components, and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain inventory of implant systems, restorative components, surgical supplies, and related materials.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate ordering and replenishment of implant supplies.
  • Maintain implant case tracking systems, inventory records, and treatment status reports.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, institutional policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, students, laboratories, and vendors to support implant services and clinic operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
