Immunology scientist

Serova•San Francisco, CA
•Onsite

About The Position

Serova builds personalized cancer vaccines. Each vaccine is made for the individual patient from their own samples and given in partnership with their treating physician. Picking the right targets for each patient, and showing the vaccine works, comes down to immunology data, and we generate a lot of it. You'll build and run the TCR, peptide-HLA and immunomonitoring assays that tell us which targets to pick for each patient, and whether their vaccine is working.

Requirements

  • A PhD in immunology or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • Hands-on with T cell assays: ELISpot, flow cytometry, multimer staining or similar
  • Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, or willing to relocate
  • Authorized to work in the US, or a realistic path to get there

Nice To Haves

  • Cancer immunology training in a leading neoantigen or cancer vaccine lab
  • Antigen discovery: you've built peptide or peptide-HLA libraries, or screened for immunogenic antigens
  • Single-cell and T cell profiling
  • You've taken an assay from idea to something robust and routine
  • Patient samples: PBMC processing and longitudinal immunomonitoring
  • You've worked at, advised or founded something outside academia

Responsibilities

  • Generate high-throughput data on peptide and peptide-HLA binding and presentation
  • Run TCR screening to find T cells that recognize each patient's targets
  • Screen mRNA vaccine candidates for the immune response they drive
  • Build and run immunomonitoring assays on patient samples
  • Work with our computational team so your data trains our models
