About The Position

We are seeking an innovative, scientifically curious bench scientist to join our team in Spring House, PA. This scientist will establish experimental proof of concept for novel biological pathways in emerging areas of immunology, enabling JJIM to advance impactful new therapies for people with autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases. The successful candidate will translate insights from proprietary human datasets, published literature, and computational analyses into focused, hands-on bench studies. They will develop disease-relevant in vitro and co-culture models; design, execute, and interpret experiments that test key mechanistic hypotheses; and generate rigorous proof-of-concept data to validate emerging pathways and therapeutic opportunities. Working across multidisciplinary teams, they will use experimental findings to refine research direction and clearly communicate recommendations that support progression of the most compelling biology.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Immunology, Cell Biology, or a related discipline, with relevant academic or industry research experience.
  • Strong foundation in myeloid, stromal, and mucosal biology and familiarity with how these compartments contribute to chronic inflammation, tissue damage, and healing in immune-mediated diseases affecting the gut, joint, lung, and skin.
  • Ability to integrate literature, multidimensional biological data, and experimental findings to generate and independently test mechanistic hypotheses.
  • Familiarity with single-cell, bulk omics, and spatial transcriptomic datasets and their application to experimental design.
  • A proven track record demonstrating clear scientific communication and effective multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, strong attention to detail.
  • Culture, manipulation, isolation, and functional characterization of human cell lines and primary immune or tissue-derived cells.
  • Development and optimization of physiologically relevant and fit-for-purpose in vitro, co-culture, and ex vivo models for human disease biology.
  • Multiparameter flow cytometry, imaging-based assays, and analysis of cellular phenotype, function, and cell–cell interactions.
  • Protein and gene-expression analysis using ELISA, multiplex cytokine assays, qPCR, and transcriptomic approaches.
  • Familiarity with cell-engineering methods, including lentiviral transduction, siRNA, and CRISPR-based perturbation.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with organ-on-a-chip and microfluidics-based culture systems for primary cells is preferred.
