About The Position

America's Competitive Edge Initiative (ACE) is a new think tank and advocacy organization dedicated to building an immigration system that is selective, enforceable, and designed to serve Americans. We believe immigration is one of the country's greatest strengths, but protecting it requires a system that is credible and responsive to the nation's economic and civic needs. ACE is hiring a Policy Analyst or Senior Policy Analyst to work closely with Kristie De Peña, a nationally recognized leader in immigration policy. This is a unique opportunity to work at the center of policy development, strategy, and thought leadership at a decisive moment in the national immigration debate. We are looking for a sharp, independent thinker who moves easily between rigorous research and practical strategy. Qualified applicants should be able to distill complex legislative and regulatory developments, build persuasive arguments, and contribute in high-level strategy conversations. As one of ACE's first full-time hires, you will need experience in immigration policy and the drive to help build a young organization from the ground up. This is not a narrow support role: you will help shape the organization's direction, priorities, and public voice. A strong early- to mid-career candidate will join as Policy Analyst. A more seasoned candidate ready to take on greater scope will join as Senior Policy Analyst, with room to grow as the team expands. We encourage senior candidates to apply.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree plus at least two (2) years of full-time, relevant professional experience or a completed or in-progress graduate degree with at least one (1) year of relevant part-time experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. immigration law, policy, or legislative analysis.

Responsibilities

Track and summarize major developments in immigration legislation, regulation, litigation, and the news.
Draft policy briefs, reports, memos, fact sheets, talking points, and op-eds for lawmakers, donors, state leaders, and the public.
Conduct original research and analysis on U.S. immigration law and policy.
Turn data and analysis into clear, persuasive recommendations.
Support rapid-response research for media and congressional inquiries.
Identify opportunities to expand ACE's work and increase impact.
