•$80,000 - $190,000

About The Position

The AI Policy Network (AIPN), a bipartisan, independent 501(c)(4) advocacy organization, is hiring policy researchers at two seniority levels to support its growing policy team. AIPN advances technically grounded, security-oriented policy solutions to help ensure advanced AI systems are reliable, controllable, and aligned with their intended purposes and democratic values. The role offers the opportunity to apply policy analysis to American policy and work with members of Congress, their senior staff, and senior administration officials. Researchers will analyze legislation, executive branch policy, news, and technical findings; develop proactive policy ideas; and help determine AIPN's positions on relevant issues. Potential areas of focus include company security practices, U.S.-China competition, cybersecurity, biosecurity, and assessing and preparing for the trajectory of advanced AI. The team works as fast-paced generalists, and topics may change as the field evolves; both generalist reasoning skills and domain expertise are valued. Policy Analysts are expected to have at least one year of relevant experience. Senior Policy Analysts are expected to have at least three years of relevant experience and a record of independent work. Relevant experience is full-time, paid work in research, policy, or an AI-related technical role.
