This internship is for current undergraduate students interested in immigration law, international human rights, or public interest work. Interns gain hands-on exposure to the daily operations of an immigration law practice, focusing on humanitarian and family-based matters such as asylum, deportation defense, family petitions, and advocacy before international bodies. The role is non-client-facing and offers opportunities to develop legal research, case preparation, and administrative skills in a supportive, mission-driven environment. Interns join the team for one semester under a hybrid model, working approximately 15–20 hours per week for 10–12 weeks. The schedule is flexible within Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM, and includes at least one in-person day each week at the firm's D.C. office, next to the Friendship Heights Metro stop. The start date is mid-January, depending on the class schedule. Compensation is $18.50 per hour. Transportation costs for Metro or parking are covered, team lunches are provided, and interns receive direct mentorship from experienced attorneys and paralegals, along with exposure to immigration and international human rights matters.
