EPACENTER is seeking interns for its inaugural Immersive Environments Design Studio, a design-build internship focused on creating immersive environments for EPACENTER and potentially other public institutions. Interns will learn the skills necessary to operate as a design studio-for-hire, including client scouting, consultation, concept development, fabrication, installation, and assessment. The program utilizes a socially engaged, materials-based approach to public art, aiming to create participatory, site-specific installations. The goal for the first year is to build and prove a working prototype at EPACENTER, establishing the studio as both a design-build practice and a Creative Workforce pipeline. Interns will also learn principles of arts education and incorporate student art into designs.
