About The Position

We are seeking an experienced IMCU Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced intermediate care environment. The unit has 64 beds, including 15 designated for neuro patients, and serves adults aged 18 years and older. Nurses work closely with respiratory therapists to manage chronic ventilator patients who are unable to be weaned.

The unit manages neurological conditions, cardiac issues, trauma, respiratory conditions such as COPD, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), sepsis, myocardial infarction (MI), CV stepdown, and post-operative care. The position requires floating. The shift is 6:30 PM–7:00 AM; block scheduling is not guaranteed. The required scrub color is navy blue.

Requirements

• Valid New York RN license, verified through NURSYS.
• AHA BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• NIHSS certification.
• Experience with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC.
• At least 2 years of experience in IMCU/PCU settings.
• Strong background in intermediate care and critical care nursing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care in an intermediate care setting.
• Care for adult patients with neurological, cardiac, trauma, respiratory, diabetic ketoacidosis, sepsis, myocardial infarction, CV stepdown, and post-operative needs.
• Work closely with respiratory therapists to manage chronic ventilator patients who are unable to be weaned.
• Float as required.
