About The Position

The Imaging Transporter provides assistance and transportation for patients and related items across the hospital campus, with a focus on a safe, seamless, and customer-sensitive experience. The role transports inpatients and outpatients to and from hospital areas, confirms patient identification, greets and assists patients during transfers, observes patient condition, and reports any issues to appropriate personnel. The transporter also maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area and reports malfunctioning equipment. The position requires a strong commitment to patient safety, customer service, attentiveness, efficiency, and professionalism.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent, upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification within 14 days of hire.

• Former experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently transport inpatients internally to and from hospital departments, including patient testing areas such as radiology and cardiology.
• Use TeleTracking transportation software to schedule and track patient movements and support timely, accurate transfers.
• Confirm patient identification, greet and assist patients, and help transfer them.
• Observe patients during transport and report concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Operate hospital beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs safely and proficiently.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients during transport and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and hospital staff to support smooth patient transfers.
• Transport medical equipment, supplies, and other materials to and from designated hospital locations as needed.
• Report malfunctioning equipment.
