About The Position

The Imaging Transporter provides assistance and transportation for patients and related items across the hospital campus, helping ensure a safe, seamless, and customer-sensitive experience. The role involves promptly transporting inpatients and outpatients to and from hospital departments, confirming patient identification, greeting patients, assisting with transfers, and observing patients’ conditions during transport. Any concerns must be reported to appropriate personnel.

The transporter also uses TeleTracking transportation software to schedule and track patient movements, operates beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs, and transports medical equipment, supplies, and other materials as needed. The role requires maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area and reporting malfunctioning equipment, while demonstrating patient safety, customer service, efficiency, and professionalism.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent, required upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification, required within 14 days.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently transport inpatients to and from hospital departments, including testing areas such as radiology and cardiology.
• Use TeleTracking transportation software to schedule and track patient movements and ensure timely, accurate transfers.
• Confirm patient identification, greet patients, and assist with patient transfers.
• Observe patients’ conditions during transport and report concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Operate hospital beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs safely and proficiently.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients during transport and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and hospital staff to support smooth transfers.
• Transport medical equipment, supplies, and other materials to designated hospital locations.
• Report malfunctioning equipment.
