About The Position
Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside Hospital is seeking an Imaging Services Assistant to join their team. This PRN position involves supporting technologists in preparing rooms and positioning patients to optimize scan turnaround times. The role also includes communicating imaging procedures to patients to alleviate anxiety, managing patient transport with a focus on safety and identity verification, maintaining department organization by managing films and patient charts, and ensuring the timely routing of diagnostic reports to physicians.
Requirements
- BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
Responsibilities
- Partnered with technologists to prepare rooms and position patients, reducing scan turnaround times.
- Demystified imaging procedures for patients through clear communication to minimize anxiety.
- Managed zero-error patient transport by stringently verifying identities per safety policies.
- Maintained organized department files by accurately matching films and managing patient charts.
- Spearheaded the efficient routing of diagnostic reports to physicians to accelerate diagnosis.
