About The Position
InterMed is seeking an Imaging Service Engineer I to work in Birmingham, Alabama. This is a growth role for someone with X-ray experience, with training provided on GE CT and Siemens MRI. The position is full-time and benefited. The engineer will service diagnostic imaging equipment and travel to customer sites across Alabama and Mississippi.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally.
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s degree in Biomedical/Electronics Technology, military training, or equivalent experience.
- 1–3 years of diagnostic imaging service experience, including basic X-ray.
- Experience working in a hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair on diagnostic imaging equipment, starting with X-ray and expanding to CT and MRI.
- Complete hands-on training on GE CT and Siemens MRI alongside a senior engineer.
- Travel to customer sites across Alabama and Mississippi, including Birmingham, Montgomery, Dothan, Alexander City, Fort Payne, and Jackson, Mississippi.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and maintain clear, accurate service documentation.
- Partner with clinical staff to keep equipment safe, compliant, and ready for patients.
