About The Position

Be a part of a world-class academic health-care system at University of Chicago Medicine, as an Imaging Physics Resident in the Radiology Department. Here, under the supervision of certified Medical Physicists, you will study and train in all aspects of diagnostic imaging medical physics including radiography, fluoroscopy, interventional radiology, mammography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, ultrasound and imaging informatics. The Imaging Physics Resident provides physics support, interacts with radiologists in optimizing imaging protocols and patient radiation dose, and is involved in routine quality assurance of equipment. We seek candidates with an excellent foundation in medical physics and a strong desire to thrive in a clinical environment. Preferred candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in medical physics from a CAMPEP-accredited graduate program or have completed a CAMPEP-accredited Certificate Program in Medical Physics. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Under supervision of a certified medical physicist, provides physics support in optimizing imaging protocols and patient radiation dose
  • Assist medical physicist with routine quality assurance on equipment
  • Fulfill duties as assigned, including proper and complete documentation of clinical projects and clinical rotations
  • Complete rotations with satisfactory evaluation
  • Performs other duties as requested by senior management
