About The Position
This role is for an Imaging Intern at Ascension Sacred Heart Bay in the Diagnostic Radiology department. The position is PRN with a rotating shift schedule. The intern will be responsible for preparing and positioning patients, selecting exposure factors, implementing radiation protection and safety standards, assisting technologists and physicians with imaging procedures, and preparing and administering contrast media and medications within their scope of practice.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- High school diploma equivalency OR Enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patients and selects exposure factors accurately.
- Implement radiation protection and safety standards.
- Prepare for and assist the supervising technologists and physicians in a variety of imaging procedures.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
