The Imaging Aide is responsible for completion of clerical duties, facilitates office workflow, and assists the customers of the imaging department. This role involves greeting and assisting patients, answering phones, managing patient preps and screenings, preparing correspondence, handling image distribution (DVDs/electronic), faxing/mailing reports, assisting with HIS/RIS/PACS systems, communicating STAT results, facilitating inter-departmental communication, delivering and retrieving requests, managing department mail, directing phone calls, maintaining the workstation, ensuring office supplies are stocked, reporting equipment malfunctions, implementing downtime procedures, and assisting in rescheduling patients during downtime. Additionally, the role involves assisting in patient care functions, escorting patients, assisting technologists with patient movement, tending to patient and family comfort needs, obtaining medical history, completing studies in RIS, and preparing waiting rooms and stocking linen. The position also requires attending department meetings or reviewing minutes, and performing other assigned duties.
