Imaging Assistant: Breast Care and Imaging Center
About The Position
The Imaging Assistant role at the Breast Care and Imaging Center involves a variety of essential tasks to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operation. Primary duties include patient transport, general and equipment cleaning, gathering and preparing specialized equipment, specimen transport, room turnover, and performing shave preps. The assistant will also support the clinical team by assisting with patient care, such as positioning and prepping, under the guidance of an RN, MD, or Technologist. Additionally, this role is responsible for preparing for upcoming procedures by setting up trays and supplies, and maintaining inventory for various imaging modalities. The Imaging Assistant acts as a central point of communication, facilitates patient transfers, and provides patient support while they await their procedures. This position also supports all hospital-based Imaging departments and adjacent imaging centers as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Skills and knowledge of equipment related to the surgical/ procedural environment
- 1 year of patient care experience in hospital setting or 6-month experience as Operating Room/Imaging/CathLab Assistant preferred
- BLS Certification

Responsibilities

- Remain with patients while awaiting their procedures as needed
- Ongoing telephone communications between departments
- Assisting with prioritizing daily patient schedules
- Coordinating throughout in procedure room as directed
- Retrieving lab results
- Provides assistance to all hospital-based Imaging departments and campus adjacent imaging centers as needed to support patient care.
