About The Position

This position requires a SAR expert with over 4 years of experience in collection, phenomenology, image formation process, and exploitation products. The role involves utilizing tools like SARPy and Matlab SAR toolbox, RNIIRS, information theoretic-based image quality metrics, SAR imagery quality metrics, and sensor metadata. The Imagery Scientist will exploit SAR to determine the occurrence and location of Objects of Interest (OOI) and develop, test, and evaluate new algorithms, processes, methodologies, and products using SAR imagery with tools like Python, MATLAB, and Google Earth Engine. Effective communication with both technical and non-technical audiences regarding SAR availability and capabilities is essential. A deep understanding of remote sensing principles, imagery processing, and advanced exploitation methods is required.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a SAR expert
  • Understanding of collection, phenomenology, image formation process, and exploitation products
  • Experience using SARPy and Matlab SAR toolbox
  • Experience in RNIIRS, information theoretic-based image quality metrics, SAR imagery quality metrics and sensor metadata (e.g., graze, squint, azimuth)
  • Experience exploiting SAR to determine the occurrence and location of an OOI
  • Experience developing, testing, and evaluating new algorithms, processes, methodologies, and products using SAR imagery with tools like Python, MATLAB, and Google Earth Engine
  • Experience communicating with technical and non-technical audiences on availability and capabilities of SAR
  • Deep understanding of the principles of remote sensing and imagery processing and advanced exploitation methods
  • TS/SCI REQUIRED
  • Current CI polygraph is required immediately after starting (or already within scope)

  • Experience applying CV and ML techniques to SAR imagery and data
