About The Position

This role provides support to the injection molding department by removing and installing molds as required. The Mold Setter will safely operate PITs and overhead cranes, properly load and remove molds from injection molding machines according to work instructions and SMED principles, and store unused molds correctly. This position also involves effective communication with team leaders, supervisors, maintenance, tool shop, resin techs, and quality/process technicians regarding material flow, equipment issues, safety, and quality concerns. Maintaining good housekeeping using 6S principles and performing equipment inspections are also key responsibilities. Cooperation with co-workers is essential for a positive working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate PIT's and overhead crane in order to deliver/install materials/molds to the injection molding department.
  • Properly load molds into the injection molding machines according to the work instructions while adhering to SMED principles.
  • Properly remove molds from the injection molding machines according to the work instructions while adhering to SMED principles.
  • Properly store molds that are not in use according to the work instructions.
  • Effectively communicate with team leaders and supervisors regarding problems with the material flow, absence of materials, and safety/quality concerns.
  • Place an emergency work order form and inform maintenance in case of equipment problems.
  • Maintains good housekeeping using the 6S principles.
  • Performs PIT/overhead crane inspections to ensure equipment is in proper working order and follows all safety guidelines for the work area.
  • Communicates effectively with tool shop in case of problems with tools and with resin techs in case of problems with color or materials.
  • Support the quality technicians and process technicians in the identification of root cause by giving them the required information.
  • Be cooperative with co-workers in order to maintain a good working environment.
