About The Position

As an Individualized Home Support (IHS) Specialist, you will assist individuals in their personal residence or family home as they work toward personal goals. Support may include meal preparation, community outings, shopping, cleaning, attending appointments, and other activities in individuals’ homes and communities. The role is part-time, with schedules built to fit staff needs, Monday through Friday, and serves areas across Minnesota based on the employee’s location. The wage is $16.50 per hour, including company benefits.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old to support Adult Programs.
• Be proficient in spoken and written English.
• Have a vehicle for work-related purposes with current car insurance.
• Have an acceptable driving record as determined by Meridian Services policy.
• Have a Wi-Fi-enabled device for work-related purposes.
• Successfully clear a Department of Human Services (DHS) Background Study.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of experience supporting individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, and/or a mental health diagnosis.

Responsibilities

• Work on tailored outcomes with each person served, which may include budgeting, behavioral management, community exploration, meal planning, organizational skills, coping skills, and physical fitness.
• Actively participate with individuals served while working on outcomes and during community activities.
• Provide guidance and instructional teaching to people served while building life skills.
• Provide supervision and transportation in the community for activities and appointments.
