Requirements

  • 12 mos. exp. as automated fingerprint identification supervisor; completion of basic fingerprinting course.
  • 4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. classifying fingerprints using Henry Classification System & National Crime Information Center methods with extensions & modifications, 6 mos. of which had to have been as supervisor or lead worker.
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

  • Under supervision of the Director of Identification, supervises the activities of the Clerical Unit
  • Supervises the processing of all incoming and outgoing mail
  • Supervises the reception of visitors to BCI
  • Supervises the management of records used by the various units within the division
  • Assists Director with development of policy & procedures of unit
  • Reviews & evaluates employee performance
  • Recommends leave requests assuring coverage of the unit
  • Interprets & instructs subordinates in the CCH system
  • Trains subordinates
  • Gives presentations to the law enforcement community as needed
  • Serves as liaison between Director & subordinates
  • Transmits decisions & directives; represents Director of Identification at meetings & conferences
  • Responds to the needs of the law enforcement community in related complex & confidential matters
  • Directs the distribution of required supplies to law enforcement agencies
