About The Position

The Identification Services Operator provides Department of State identification services for Department employees and contractors, as well as other federal government employees and contractors. The role performs required and mandated processes and provides customer support to system users, employees, and visitors. The primary work location is the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, and travel is required. The position works in a general office environment. Supervisory responsibilities are not anticipated.

Requirements

High school diploma and at least three years of job-related experience or equivalent; an associate degree or three years of increasingly responsible administrative experience may be substituted.
One year of clerical and data-entry experience or one year of college coursework (30 credit hours).
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and programs.
Good typing skills.
Good customer service skills.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to perform work with supervision.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Highly organized, able to work independently with minimal supervision and direction, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must have a current U.S. Government SECRET Personnel Security Clearance or be able to successfully complete a U.S. government-administered investigation, and must be able to maintain a SECRET clearance.
Must be able to meet the stated physical demands, including occasionally lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.
