About The Position

The Identification Services Operator provides Department of State identification services for Department employees and contractors, as well as other federal government employees and contractors. The role performs required and mandated functions and processes and provides customer support to system users, employees, and visitors. The position is based primarily in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area, in a general office environment, and requires travel. It requires a current U.S. Government SECRET Personnel Security Clearance or the ability to successfully complete a U.S. government-administered investigation, and the ability to maintain the clearance. The incumbent must be a U.S. citizen. Supervisory responsibilities are not anticipated.

Requirements

High school diploma and at least three years of job-related experience or equivalent; an associate degree or three years of increasingly responsible administrative experience may be substituted.
One year of clerical and data-entry experience or one year of college coursework (30 credit hours).
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and programs.
Good typing skills.
Good customer service skills.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to perform work with supervision.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Highly organized, able to work independently with minimal supervision and direction, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must have a current U.S. Government SECRET Personnel Security Clearance or be able to successfully complete a U.S. government-administered investigation, and must be able to maintain a SECRET clearance.
