The Telemetry Technician is responsible for continuous electrocardiographic monitoring, interpretation, and notification of patients’ heart rhythms. This role involves performing continuous monitoring of cardiac rhythms from a centralized telemetry department, skillfully recognizing and interpreting cardiac rhythms, and completing measurement and documentation per policy and department standards. The technician will effectively communicate with members of the care team regarding rhythm interpretation, provide customer service by responding to frequent and potentially complex questions from internal and external customers in a timely, positive, and professional manner, and assist in supporting daily department workflow through effective coordination, communication, and prioritization of department activities. Collaboration with biomedical and information services to maintain and troubleshoot electronic monitoring equipment, as well as performing daily inventory and cleaning of telemetry monitoring boxes, are also key responsibilities.
