About The Position

This is a casual position for a Telemetry Technician. The role involves monitoring noninvasive cardiac activity and other clinical parameters for adolescent to geriatric patient populations using continuous electrocardiographic display and pulse oximetry. The technician is responsible for interpreting the patient’s cardiac rhythm, performing critical alarm hand-offs with the nursing unit appropriately, maintaining data related to monitoring, and providing daily electronic shift reports for the patient's permanent medical record directly into the EMR.

Requirements

• High School education
• Excellent knowledge of advanced ECG interpretation demonstrated by an arrhythmia skills validation given by the department
• Excellent written and verbal communication and report generating skill are necessary
• Must be able to maintain composure during stressful situations
• Requires a high level of adaptation to multiple technologies simultaneously
• Must be able to multitask in high stress situations

Nice To Haves

• Certified Cardiovascular Technician School or comparable certification
• Previous Holter scanning, paramedic, nurse technician, stress testing or telemetry experience
• Previous work as an EKG technician, medical assistant, emergency Technician, nursing assistant
• CRAT- Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician

Responsibilities

• Monitor noninvasive cardiac activity and other clinical parameters of patient populations ranging from adolescence to geriatric by continuous electrocardiographic display and pulse oximetry
• Interpret the patient’s cardiac rhythm
• Perform critical alarm hand off with the nursing unit appropriately
• Maintain data related to monitoring
• Provide daily reports for the patient's permanent medical record via electronic shift report directly into EMR
