Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required within 6 months of hire).

Nice To Haves

  • Nurse Assistant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform continuous monitoring of cardiac telemetry for multiple patients.
  • Identify and recognize abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias).
  • Observe for signs of patient distress and report immediately to nursing staff. Notify nursing staff of any abnormal telemetry findings or changes in patient condition.
  • Identify and correct monitor artifacts to ensure accurate readings.
  • Test telemetry equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or issues to the supervisor.
  • Perform nurse assistant–related duties as assigned, under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Use critical thinking and sound judgment when responding to changes in patient status.
