Requirements

  • Current Maine license as a registered professional nurse.
  • Current BLS, ACLS and PALS.
  • Critical Care/Code Blue Course.
  • Recent training/experience in medication administration and nursing process in an acute care setting.
  • Familiarity with IS computer system and Monitoring System.
  • Familiarity with CCS specific equipment and medications.
  • ALS procedures and policies.
  • Emotional maturity and good people skills required.
  • Able to take in, process and apply clinical information in a wide variety of patient care situations.
  • Ability for high performance under stressful situations.
  • Must be able to prioritize, multi-task and follow through.
  • Able to sit, stand and walk for an 8-12 hour shift.
  • Adequate hearing, vision, speech and manual dexterity.
  • General health must be such as to regularly work scheduled hours.
  • Able to lift and carry 25-50 pounds (assisting patients in and out of bed, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • TNCC, CCRN, NALS encouraged.
  • Critical Care Course can be 1:1 with Division Director during orientation.
  • Recent critical care experience and CC course preferred prior to application.
