About The Position

The ICU Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to critically ill patients with complex health issues in a fast-paced environment. The nurse works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support the best possible patient outcomes.

The position has 12-hour shifts and 36 guaranteed hours per week. Weekend work is required every other weekend, and at least two holidays must be worked within the contract timeframe. One shift of department-specific orientation is provided. Self-scheduling is available for core staff, while block scheduling is limited to weekends. Travelers may be added as needed.

Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments. Compliance with all policies is required to avoid contract termination.

Requirements

• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Valid driver's license.
• Compliance with the 50-mile radius requirement.
• Pass a mandatory skills exam during orientation with a score of at least 90% to remain employed.
• Proficiency in using monitoring equipment.
• Understanding of ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and other respiratory support devices.
• Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care departments; compliance with all policies is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care for trauma, cardiac, overdose, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress cases.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, including reading and interpreting cardiac strips.
• Titrate cardiac medication, insulin, and sedation drips according to medical directives.
• Facilitate communication among healthcare team members and assist with patient education.
• Coordinate with nurse aides and healthcare support technicians as needed.
• Follow policies and procedures, including infection control protocols.
