About The Position

The ICU Registered Nurse will provide care in a fast-paced, collaborative Trauma ICU with 30 beds and typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1–2. Shifts are 12 hours, with 36 guaranteed hours per week. An Intensivist is available 24/7, and a unit technician provides administrative support. The charge nurse does not take patient assignments so they can support nursing staff.

The role involves caring for critically ill patients, including patients with trauma and neuro-stroke needs, ICP monitoring, and ventriculostomies. The nurse must be prepared to adapt to different patient-care scenarios, including floating to other units when required. Every-other-weekend work is required. Holiday requests will be considered but cannot be guaranteed. Travelers may be moved first if scheduling adjustments are needed.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in ICU settings.
• Proficiency with ICP monitoring and ventriculostomies.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• Willingness to take a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on the first day of work.
• Ability to work every other weekend.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with a team.
• Willingness to ask questions and seek help when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients.
