We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients while ensuring their comfort and safety. The ICU has 33 beds and an average daily census of 16, with adult nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2–3. Common diagnoses include trauma, cardiac conditions, overdose or substance abuse, adult sepsis, post-stent and pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress. The role requires titration of cardiac, insulin, and sedation drips. Nurse aides are available based on census and may provide 1:1 monitoring or assist on the floor. Equipment includes ventilator settings, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow setups; RNs are expected to troubleshoot equipment as needed. Nurses must read, interpret, and document telemetry strips, with tele tech oversight of monitors. Shifts are 12 hours, either 0630–1830 or 1830–0630. Core staff may self-schedule; travelers are scheduled accordingly. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, and a minimum of two holidays must be worked during the contract period. Orientation includes one unit- or department-specific shift. Nurses may float, typically to PCU or occasionally MedSurg, while maintaining the same patient ratio. Current BLS and ACLS certifications and NIHSS certification are required. Artificial nails are prohibited in departments providing patient care; refusal to comply will result in termination of the contract. All RNs must pass an open-book exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90% to remain in the position.
