About The Position

This is a self-scheduling flexi/prn position for an ICU/Critical Care Registered Nurse in the Southeastern 2 Market Regional Resource Pool, serving Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, and Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of recent acute care RN experience in the specialty area. Nurses are expected to work in all units for which they are qualified and a minimum of two different units. The position offers premium differential pay and flexible self-scheduling, with a requirement to pre-schedule at least 72 hours every 6-week period. The Registered Nurse is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. Professional nursing standards encompass ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN must possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards for specific clinical areas.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse Diploma
  • Registered Nurse License
  • Minimum of 2 years (most recent experience) as RN in acute care setting.
  • Available to work 12 hours per week FLEXI status.
  • Minimum of 72 hours per 6-weeks.
  • 12 hours scheduled on a weekend shift per 6-weeks.
  • 12 hours off-shift requirement per 6-weeks.
  • Reside within 90 minutes of all 3 hospitals: Sentara Albemarle Medical Center (Elizabeth City, NC), Sentara Princess Anne Hospital (Virginia Beach, VA), and Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital (Virginia Beach, VA).

Nice To Haves

  • All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
