About The Position

The Jack Kirrane Ice Rink in Brookline is hiring seasonal Rink Managers for the period of December through February, weather permitting. This role involves assisting with the management and operation of the ice skating rink, ensuring adherence to protocols by staff and skaters, and coordinating staff schedules. The manager will also handle rental group confirmations, liaise with the Parks Department regarding weather-related closures, and maintain facility cleanliness. Prior customer service experience is preferred. The pay rate is $20 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be minimum 21 years old.
• Assigned shift and vacation week availability is a must.

• Prior experience in customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the management and operation of the Jack Kirrane Ice Skating Rink.
• Ensure all staff and skaters are following protocols.
• Help assemble the staff schedule for each week and effectively communicate schedule to staff.
• Supervise part-time staff and volunteers.
• Call rental groups 1 week prior to their reservation to confirm details and provide customer service.
• Coordinate with Parks Department during inclement weather for optimum use of the rink and communicate closure details to the public.
• Ensure the facility is clean and well prepared for all rentals and public skating hours.
• Open facility and make sure it is clean and ready for guests.
• Ensure computers and software are working properly and appropriate change is available.
• Check voicemails and respond to customer inquiries.
• Serve as point of contact for customer questions or issues that arise during shift.
• Reconcile cash at end of shift and secure facility when necessary.
