About The Position

The Ice Rink Assistant Manager is a full-time, year-round position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the ice arena. This includes managing staff, training and development, and operating the Zamboni Ice Resurfacer. The role requires flexibility with nights and weekends for staffing purposes. The Fessenden School is an independent day and boarding school for boys in Pre-Kindergarten through 9th Grade, dedicated to cultivating each boy's talents and developing character, mind, and body in an inclusive and joyful community.

Requirements

Valid Driver's License
Exhibit superior customer service skills
Knowledge of workplace safety procedures
Ability to maintain professional demeanor in high-stress situations
Successful criminal background check and pre-employment physical examination

Responsibilities

Overseeing staffing performance
Responsible for ice installation and maintaining a quality sheet of ice
Safe and efficient driving of the Zamboni Ice Resurfacer
Handle daily activities, keeping on schedule
Managing the skate shop, including inventory and staff training
Maintain the arena’s cleanliness to optimal levels
Routine maintenance must be performed for proper operations
Works alongside the Rink Manager to uphold protocols, practices, and standards
Handles off-season projects to help get the rink ready for the next season
Retains on-call status in the event of emergencies or maintains appropriate staffing
Exhibit superior customer service skills
Performs other related duties as directed by the Rink Manager
