About The Position
The Fessenden School is seeking a part-time, seasonal Ice Rink Operator to oversee the day-to-day operations of the ice arena. This role is crucial for maintaining the quality of the ice and ensuring a positive experience for users. The position involves nights and weekends during the hockey season, from August to April. The Ice Rink Operator is responsible for cleaning, operating the Zamboni Ice Resurfacer, managing the skate shop, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and safety of the arena.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures
- Ability to maintain professional demeanor in high-stress situations
- Successful criminal background check and pre-employment physical examination
Nice To Haves
- US Ice Rink or ISI Certification
Responsibilities
- Maintaining a quality sheet of ice
- Safe and efficient driving of the Zamboni Ice Resurfacer
- Handle daily activities, keeping on schedule
- Ability to run the skate shop, including skate sharpening
- Maintain the arena’s cleanliness to optimal levels
- Exhibit superior customer service skills
- Performs other related duties as directed by the Rink Manager
