About The Position

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring part-time Scoopers for its Inwood Village shop in Dallas, Texas. Scoopers serve as brand ambassadors, delivering warm hospitality and high standards in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. They serve and explain menu items, prepare fresh house-made offerings, operate the point-of-sale system, follow food-safety procedures, and help keep the shop stocked, clean, and orderly. Candidates should bring positive energy, strong people skills, reliability, and a genuine passion for ice cream and desserts. The role requires availability for at least three shifts per week, including nights and weekends, and availability to work past midnight. Base pay is $14 per hour, with tips averaging an additional $10 per hour; tip averages vary seasonally.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Genuine passion for ice cream and desserts.
Dexterity to prepare and serve all menu items according to established service and build-out standards.
Able to push, pull, or lift 50 pounds regularly.
Able to stand for extended periods regularly.
Able to walk up and down stairs regularly.
Able to stand, bend, and reach for prolonged periods.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Available to work at least three days per week, including nights and weekends past 12 a.m.
Reliable, punctual, and ready for every shift.
Food handlers certificate required.

Responsibilities

Greet every guest warmly, enthusiastically, and with genuine hospitality.
Scoop and serve all menu items while maintaining quality and presentation standards.
Educate guests about flavors, ingredients, and special offerings as a Van Leeuwen ambassador.
Prepare fresh, house-made menu items daily.
Operate the Square POS system accurately to provide a seamless checkout experience.
Learn and follow required food-safety procedures.
Maintain store cleanliness and follow sanitation guidelines.
Complete daily tasks such as stocking, inventory, and cleaning.
Follow established safety, grooming, uniform, and employee-conduct standards.
